HERA-2-Lithuania project is composed of 4 Work Packages (WP) that include the following objectives.
Work Package 1
Project management and coordination
WP1 provides overall organisation, support, and leadership of various aspects of the project, including schedules, budgets, risks, and quality assurance. This WP is responsible for allocation and management of human resources, as well as technical and financial resources associated with the project.
Work Package 2
Improvement of pre-analytical WGS infrastructure at NPHSL
The overall aim of WP2 is to expand genomic-based surveillance for infectious diseases through the improvement of currently available NPHSL WGS infrastructure and the development of new assays. It includes implementing WGS-produced results to perform statistical analysis, contributing to more accurate epidemiological surveillance data at the national and EU levels.
Work Package 3
Dissemination and sustainability
The main objective of WP3 is to develop a model for systematic data sharing on international databases, as well as launch a communication strategy to ensure that all project stakeholders and the public are aware of the project’s progress, goals, and outcomes.
Work Package 4
Trainings and core capacities building
The main aim of WP4 is to provide training opportunities and support capacity building for personnel involved in the WGS infrastructure, such as laboratory technicians, data analysts and public health professionals. It includes developing training materials, offering mentoring and organising training sessions that are tailored to the specific needs of each professional group.
